About Intellectual Property HQ
When you hear about intellectual property theft, it’s easy to think, “That could never happen to me.” But if you create content, whether you run a big business or you’re just starting out, your work can be copied, reposted, and sold without your permission. When that happens, most creators assume their only option is an expensive lawyer.
That’s where Intellectual Property HQ comes in. We help creators protect their work before it gets stolen, so when someone takes what you made, you know exactly what to do. We teach you how to register your copyrights, keep track of your work, and enforce your rights yourself, from sending a DMCA takedown notice to filing a claim with the Copyright Claims Board.

About Jason Tucker
Jason Tucker has spent more than 20 years on the front lines of copyright enforcement. In 2006 he founded Battleship Stance, an intellectual property enforcement, investigation, and brand protection firm that represents creators, platforms, and rights holders around the world. Since then he has worked on more than 500 intellectual property lawsuits, helped resolve more than $2 billion in claims, and built enforcement and licensing programs that generated more than $1 billion in new business.
His investigations have shaped how U.S. courts handle overseas piracy. Jason led the investigation and enforcement strategy in Will Co. v. Lee, 47 F.4th 917 (9th Cir. 2022), a Ninth Circuit decision on personal jurisdiction over foreign websites that is now cited by federal courts and in legal scholarship. He also supported the legal strategy in AMA Multimedia, LLC v. Wanat, 970 F.3d 1201 (9th Cir. 2020). His recent enforcement work has led to the seizure and shutdown of more than 183 piracy domains.
Before that, Jason ran one of the largest libraries of registered copyrighted media and consulted for Microsoft on Windows Media and the launch of its Digital Rights Management platform. His work has been covered by the Financial Times, Forbes, McClatchyDC, and TorrentFreak. (See our media page.)
Jason started Intellectual Property HQ in 2017 and hosts The Copyright & Intellectual Property Podcast to give independent creators the same playbook big studios use: register your work, track it, and enforce it.
Intellectual Property HQ is run by Jason and Melissa Tucker.
Jason is not an attorney. He works alongside legal teams, and the information on this site is educational, not legal advice. If you need legal advice about your situation, talk to a licensed attorney.
